An avid nature-lover, Anne was a lifelong member of the Sierra Club and a volunteer at Armand Bayou Nature Center for 25 years.  She enjoyed the arts and frequently attended both the symphony and opera. An accomplished piano player, she played at home, with friends, and for the primary children's choir at church. She would often play with other musicians at nursing homes.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Carol Shulman.  She is survived by her husband of 53 years Cline, her brother Gary Vander Roest, her children Mike and Diane Tincher, and her three grandchildren Sam, Mary, and Emily Tincher.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, MD Anderson, and the Armand Bayou Nature Center.  The family of Anne wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at MD Anderson and Hospice Plus along with the congregations of Clear Lake United Methodist Church and the Clear Lake First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
